A little bit more about me....
Background
I fell in love with the hospitality industry when I first joined Sheraton in Brunei. I was privileged to be the first and only Brunei-born hotelier to be given the opportunity to work in a fast-paced corporate office in Singapore where I continued my career at Starwood, Marriott and Shangri-La across Asia-Pacific from Sales & Marketing to Sales Automation, Data Analytics and Training.
Experience
I trained staff throughout my 25-year hospitality and spa career, specifically in the role of Corporate Trainer for 12 years at Starwood and 2 years at TelBru, the largest Telecommunication Company in Brunei at the time.
Exposure
Training has taken me to 36 hub cities across Asia Pacific, mostly, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, China, Japan and India. The diverse cultural backgrounds had given me first-hand experience in honing my emotional intelligence to be able to connect mindfully with the participants, resulting in effective and fruitful outcomes. Embodying the essence of hospitality and armed with an arsenal of experience in hotel operations, sales, marketing and spa business management, I apply a holistic approach in my training methodologies.
Culture and Language
Born with mixed Chinese and Indian heritage, I have a passion for travel, and I appreciate diverse cultures. Fluent in English and Malay, I also speak 4 Chinese dialects - Hakka, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien. This not only helps to break the ice with participants, but also with translations especially to those for whom English is not their first language.
China
Visited Tiananmen Square in Beijing before the start of my training class.
India
Took a 4-hour drive to Agra to visit this iconic site before the start of my training class in Delhi.
